Well, who doesn’t like a delicious cup of instant noodles right? Everyone has their go-to favourite instant noodles brand, from Maggi to Samyang and so on. Well, it seems that students in Sydney are all about that Indomie Goreng lifestyle; so much so that a cafe there has become an instant hit with local students for their unique offering – the Indomie Goreng Sandwich.
A what sandwich now?
Yup, you’ve read that right! Get this, the unique fusion dish is made out of:
Two slices of toast stuffed with Indomie Goreng,
Melted cheddar cheese
Fried eggs with a runny yolk
Topped off with a signature spicy mayonnaise
Err, we really don’t know how to feel about this but one thing’s for certain, students in Sydney are absolutely in love with it! Originally a limited-edition special by a Sydney cafe called Dutch Smuggler Coffee Brewers back in 2017, it is now a permanent offering in their menu due to its overwhelming popularity.
How popular? Well, it was actually voted as one of Sydney’s best sandwiches of 2019 by Good Food, an Australian food and lifestyle website.
According to the Daily Mail, the unique dish is priced at 9.50 Australian Dollars (around RM28) per serving, and diners often rave about the Indomie Goreng Sandwich – dubbing it the ‘best sandwich ever’. Well, we’re not too sure about that but hey, to each their own!
What do you think about this Indomie Goreng and sandwich fusion? Would you try it out if it was sold in Malaysia?
